a monthly dose of healing insight, thought-provoking tools, and a heart-centered perspective.

Wholeness in the Wildness

The wildness of life—its unpredictability and constant change—can leave us feeling unmoored and fragile. Yet within this chaos lies a profound invitation to discover wholeness by moving through it with intention.

This month’s Museletter offers gentle guidance for nurturing the synchronicity of the whole body through rest, reflection, and grounding practices that will help you stand firm when life feels wild.

Resting With The Wild Things

When uncertainty and fear weigh heavily, peace can feel out of reach.
Wendell Berry's poem, The Peace of Wild Things,
shows how resting with the wildness of nature offers a quiet refuge;
a place to breathe, let go, and find grace, even amid chaos.

Take a moment to read and let yourself be carried into that calm...

The Peace of Wild Things ~ Wendell Berry

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Remaining Centered in Tumultuous Times

The question that comes to us most frequently is “How can I possibly keep myself together when so much around me feels chaotic and threatening?"

'Keeping yourself together' means controlling what’s yours to influence:
your mind, your body, your spirit and being present for those close to you.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Limit Exposure to Stress-Inducing Information:
While staying informed is important, constant exposure to distressing news can heighten anxiety. Allocate specific times to check updates and avoid continuous monitoring to prevent overwhelm.
  • Practice Mindfulness and Present-Moment Awareness:
Engage in mindfulness exercises to anchor yourself in the present. Techniques like the 5-4-3-2-1 method involve acknowledging five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. This sensory awareness helps divert attention from stressors to foster a sense of calm and being grounded.

“Celebrate endings-for they precede new beginnings.” ~Jonathan Hui Happy New... Endings? Endings. The word itself can feel heavy—tinged with sadness, nostalgia, and the quiet ache of letting go. We often think of endings as losses: the close of a relationship, a job, a season of life. Yet every beginning we celebrate, like the arrival of a New Year, is only possible because something else has gently come to a close. We eagerly welcome fresh calendars, clean slates, and hopeful resolutions,...
